Life is Wonderful

We are married.
I love my husband.
I love our new apartment.
I love our Christmas tree.
I love Christmas time.
I love that our Christmas shopping is done.

So life is wonderful.
I'm married and it's the greatest time of year.

Santa, Can You Hear Me?

I told Nate a couple of weeks ago that I had started making my Christmas list and he replied, "For who?" :(

Unfortunately, Christmas is too expensive for soon-to-be newly married people like us. Looks like this year I'm just sending this one to the North Pole and hoping he knows I've been good this year.

One Month to Go

And this is what my man walked in with in between working his two jobs...

(Sorry for the bad phone picture quality. My camera batteries are dead and I just had to get a picture of these beauties.)

Oh boy, I just love him.

Loving Vegas more and more...

The longer I live away from Vegas, the more I miss it and the more I just want to be HOME. We took a trip down last weekend and it was so great to be with my family, to be in warmth, and to just be in Vegas. Plus we got so much done.

My parents were nearly finished so many of the wedding plans, but just needed approval from Nate and I. So the first day we were there we got down to business. We finished tying ribbons, addressing and stuffing envelopes, and putting together all of the announcements. We changed our minds about the original cake we had picked out. And we (well, I) completely changed all of the flowers. Haha. Typical me, right? But seriously, I went into the flower shop and everything she showed me was not what I had imagined, so we started from scratch and I'm hoping they turn out well. We also planned out how the backyard will be set up and what decorations and tables will go where. Oh, and Nate and I went into downtown LV to get our marriage license and very much enjoyed seeing the hour and a half line in front of us of couples. Let's just say it was the epitome of Downtown Las Vegas. We even saw a couple go straight from there to the Drive-Through wedding chapel next door, so we obviously had to take a picture by "The Fast Lane".

That night we went to a free outdoor Mae concert, which was amazing. It was so small and intimate and Nate kept saying it just felt like we were sitting in on one of their jam sessions. My sister and her husband were able to join us which also made it fun.

Saturday we went down to the strip during the day, which is rare for me. It was fun to see the Bellagio fountains and the Las Vegas sign in the sunlight. Plus my little sister came too, so we had a good time.

Finally, our weekend ended on Sunday with a relaxing day of church and watching the Rockies/Phillies game at my house. As everyone knows, Nate is the biggest Rockies fan alive, but my whole family is Phillies fans. So it was fun to have a little rivalry during the game.

For the record...my team won. :)
It was such a fun weekend and I can't wait to go back! Especially since the next time we do it will be for our wedding!! Woohoo! Only a little over a month left.

Stresssed.

I'm stressed. Not even about wedding stuff. About POST wedding stuff. Bills and school and work and money. Ok, all of the stress surrounding those things has to do with money. How do people do it?? There's a trillion things to pay for and I know I can't be the only one having this problem, right? I can't even count how many nights now I have laid in bed for literally hours wondering how we're ever going to make it through a month before we're out on the street. I need sleep! But then I think about how many other people have to be in this same situation and somehow they all make it...so that gives me hope.

To relieve stress, here's some pictures of our future children.

I actually think the boy is pretty cute. But somehow our daughter popped out with red hair?

Passing the Time

53 days people. Less than 8 weeks. We have gotten so much accomplished in the past week. Announcements are finalized, just need to be printed. Engagement pictures are FINALLY done and the disk is in the mail on the way to me right now. We are registered. Tuxedos are set up and Gray Boy is fitted. Flowers have been chosen. The cake is picked out. Addresses are collected. And my dress is being altered. Speaking of...that appointment was quite the experience as I nearly fainted in the middle of it. Literally. I blacked out and couldn't hear and nearly fell over if a chair hadn't somehow been placed under me. I have concluded that it was a combination of dehydration (I hadn't drank anything all day...not smart), being very hot in a tight dress, and standing in that hot, tight dress for an hour. Needless to say, I will be drinking plenty of water before my next fitting to ensure I am not embarrassed by passing out again.

So to pass the time until our glorious wedding day arrives, GB and I have been keeping plenty busy. He works his butt off and I work and go to school, and we are also on a total of seven intramural teams between the two of us. Ok, well he is on six and I'm on two (one we do together :]). They are a good stress reliever for him when he finally gets home from working all day, and they give me something to do while he works all day. They are more fun than I imagined they could possibly be. Here is my girl's flag football team after winning our first game. (We're still undefeated)

We also have gone to both of the BYU home games and one of our favorite weekly activities is Sunday nights with our favorite married couple Shelby and Ryan. We really love them to death and have so much fun making dinner every Sunday with them and then playing games all night. We have been seriously spoiled with chicken enchiladas, homemade macaroni, homemade pizza, and a CPK barbecue chicken/Cafe Rio mix salad. Although a salad may not sound like much, it was gourmet...compliments of my baby. I love that he loves to cook. And that he's good at it. We really need to start taking pictures of these meals, and just more pictures in general. I'll work on that.

Made. My. Week.

I need to run into people like this when I'm coming out of the testing center, or in the middle of my nightmare of an English class, or really at any random moment in my life. Seriously, this totally made me laugh hysterically for I don't even know how long and you just can't help but to be happy after seeing this. I realize it's five minutes long...but stick it out and watch it. It's worth it.

Thank you Jarvis Johnson.
