We wish we were able to get out to Colorado more often, but with Nate's job and a crazy 17 month old, life presents it's obstacles. But we had the best excuse to go out last week for Nate's brother's wedding! I absolutely love weddings so I had been so excited for this for months. Also, Quinn was going to be flower girl, I was a bridesmaid, and Nate was a best man, so it really was going to be fun to be so involved.
Quinn was full of energy when we got to the airport for our flight out there. She was running around in every which direction and would not sit still no matter how we bribed her, so needless to say we were getting nervous for the actual flight. She didn't sleep a wink on the plane, even though we didn't land until around midnight, but she was actually really good! She loved looking out the window at the lights on the wing and luckily we had an entire row to ourselves, which she loved to jump around in. So we really couldn't complain, as it could have been much worse had she been crying and screaming the whole time.
When we first got there, Nate's entire next day was spent with the "Bachelor Party" going golfing, to the Rockies game, and out to eat. So Quinn and I spent the day relaxing, catching up on sleep, and helping with wedding prep. It was nice to just spend the day with Nate's mom helping her get things ready and seeing everything come together for the wedding.
The next morning we woke up early to head to Chatfield Reservoir with some of Nate's friends to spend time on their boat. I have so missed Lake Mead this summer so I was definitely excited! It was so much fun, but Quinn and I nearly froze to death! We definitely missed our 90 degree Vegas mornings and were wrapped up in a blanket the whole time we were on the boat. It was a great start to the day though. We spent the rest of that day in wedding rehearsal and at the rehearsal dinner.
Then Saturday was all about the wedding! I woke up and went to join the bride and the other bridesmaids to get my hair done. It was a blast spending the morning with them and getting pampered. From there, the wedding was a bit of a blur, Quinn arrived at one point, we took a lot of pictures, their ceremony was beautiful, and the reception after was a great party! We were definitely exhausted by the end of that day. But again, Quinn was SO good! She was the cutest little flower girl and no one could get enough of her in her adorable dress. Thank you to all who passed her around and helped watch her while Nate and I were doing bridal party duties.
We spent Sunday driving around visiting with Nate's family all day long. It was fun to get some one on one time with all of them and to visit without the stress of anything else going on. Then Monday was so enjoyable as we just stayed up and relaxed with Nate's mom and dad and our nephew, Patrick. Quinn also got to meet her newest Gray cousin while we were in Colorado. It was pretty funny to watch her interact with a baby, she wasn't too sure what to do with him. But it was definitely fun just spending the day as a family before we took off super early Tuesday morning.
Luckily, Quinn slept the entire flight back home and was such a little angel for us :) It was a fun trip and we couldn't have asked for more from it!
