BYU Alumni
It's hard to believe I fit under that title now. Last Friday I walked at BYU's McKay School of Education Convocations. I also said the closing prayer. It was pretty cool that I got to sit on stage the whole time, although I was pretty nervous. My parents and Nate's parents both drove out for it and I was so appreciative of their support.
We walked around campus after to show Nate's parents and so that my parents could reminisce. It was a weird feeling knowing I was walking those sidewalks for the last time...at least until my kids go. I definitely feel closure with BYU right now, I'm excited to be out of Utah and starting my career as a teacher. I wrote a whole post about the things I would and wouldn't miss about Provo, but decided I'd wait to see if any of my opinions changed. The traffic, construction, and weather in Utah couldn't have really been that bad, right? (Or maybe I'll just slowly forget over time). But I will definitely miss good friends that we made there, as well as going to Cougar football and basketball games. I'm also pretty sad that my little sister is moving up in a week and living less than a block from our apartment now that I'm not there. But I'm definitely excited to be in Vegas and around my family here.

Nate's Graduation
Nate graduated from UVU last week (and yes, I am just now getting to posting about it. You don't even want to know my schedule these days). His parents, grandparents, and one of his aunts, as well as my mom, came out to support him. Unfortunately, my Dad was in China so he couldn't come, but he would have loved to be here to support him as well.
The weather was absolutely awful that day, so the UCCU Center was absolutely packed, with convocation ceremonies only scheduled a half hour apart. But anyways, it was a great ceremony and I was so incredibly proud of Nate. Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pictures of him walking across the stage (I'm hoping to get some from his aunt, who had a really nice camera), so for now these pictures will have to do.
I seriously could not have been more proud of him that day. He has accomplished so much and is leaving college with a great resume and great experiences. Now we're just counting down to my graduation in three months! Then we'll be all grown up :)

In closing
Nate and I have been so busy this month with finals (my last ever!) and the semester coming to a close. I had so much homework and so many projects to get done at the beginning of this month, I really did not think I was going to get it all done. But somehow we made it through and we're here to begin the next stage of our lives right now.
To close the semester though, Nate had a few events to go to and I got to tag along. First was a get together with his Bateman team to reward all of their hard work and their top ten finish. We went to Provo Beaches (the new hot spot in town) and had Malawi's Pizza for dinner. After which we explored the place and had fun with everyone. It was karaoke night, which entertained me plenty, but we also went bowling and got on the carousel so that they could get a "team" picture on it. I'm not sure why it was so exciting for everyone though, it actually made me really dizzy...
The next event for Nate was UVU's PRSSA Closing Social. They handed out awards and held elections for next year. After announcing all of the awards they finally got to the big one, and the one Nate was nominated for: PR Student of the Year. And I won't keep you in suspense, he won! We were so excited and I am so proud of him. He also got recognized for being in the PRSSA Presidency, and again for his Bateman top ten honorable mention.
(He kind of stole the show ;) )
And finally we got to attend the UVU Athletic Awards, but I didn't get any good pictures. It was a great meal and a fun night though to see all of the athletes receive their awards.
Also, as a random sidenote: In closing my final year at BYU, I know I will miss things.
But one thing I won't miss is crazy Provo traffic. I was so happy when I walked home the day after graduation through empty streets!
