This little girl is so crazy these days. She has so much energy and
cannot get it all out no matter how much she runs around and climbs
everything in sight. She learned to walk (finally!) at 16 months old
and hasn't looked back since. Within days, she was a pro and has only
gotten faster each day.
She is such a monkey. Her
favorite thing to do is climb and I find her on top of new things every
day. Unfortunately, I don't have too many pictures of that because it
is usually not the safest place and I am running to get her down instead
of snapping a picture. She loves to run away from us in stores and
public places and when we go on walks.
Her favorite
things these days include trying to sit in every little container and
bucket she finds, dancing, loving on her big teddy bear more than
anything, being outside, finding all of her headbands and either
carrying them around or making me put them on her head, watching Mickey
Mouse Clubhouse (which she will adamantly repeat "TOOOOO" for toodles
until you put it on the tv or iphone), reading books, and talking...she
NEVER stops jabbering.
She knows who Dada is now and
always yells "Dada!" when she sees a picture of him, she will bring me
her shoes and perfectly say, "Shoe! Shoe!" until I put it on, then she
will walk to the door and start knocking on it and saying "Bye Bye"
until I take her outside. She would live outside if she could. She
knows where her eyes and nose are and can say "Eye" and "Noo". She says
"wa wa" when she wants a drink of anything. She always points to my
belly button and says "Baby". She will say "no no no" and wave her
little finger when she knows she's doing something she shouldn't be.
And she says "uh oh" all the time. She also barks whenever she hears or
sees a dog (and she loves dogs).
She just barely
started getting scared of things and it is actually hilarious! It might
make us bad parents, but sometimes Nate and I do things to scare her
just because her reaction is so funny! When she gets scared she will
freeze and her eyes get realllllyy big. Then without moving a muscle,
she shifts her little eyes back and forth, like she's looking for an
escape without being noticed or something. Only once has she been so
scared that she continued this for literally a couple of minutes and
then started crying. Usually she just has shifty eyes for a minute or
two and then will slowly come over to me to hold her. It is seriously
one of the funniest things I have ever seen her do. So far she has done
this after watching a near life size stuffed football player sing and
dance in front of her (this is the only one that has made her cry), when
she hears the blender or the mixer, and when certain strangers have
tried to hold her.
She is the absolute BEST sleeper
these days! I was worried our trip to Colorado would mess up her
sleeping schedule, but she has been amazing since getting home. She
goes down between 7:00 and 8:00 at night, usually doesn't wake up at all
throughout the night but every now and then will when she can't find
her binky and we just have to go in and find it for her and she goes
right back to sleep, and then sleeps until about 9:00 every morning
(sometimes 9:30 or 10:00!) and then still takes a 2-3 hour nap in the
middle of the day. I am loving this stage and soaking up every single
day that it lasts.
I just started taking her binky from
her during all times except naptime or bedtime this week and she has
been totally fine with it. She is so busy playing and running around
that she doesn't even notice it's gone until she gets tired and cranky.
I don't plan on taking it during her sleeping times for awhile longer
so I'm very happy with that.
Quinn is still SUCH a good
little girl. Although she is crazy, I love the energy that she has and
the independence that is in her. She just wants to let her little
personality shine and explore absolutely everything in the world around
her. I am constantly just smiling and laughing while watching her. She is my little peanut and I just cannot get enough of her!
