A Day in the Life

I take about a million pictures a day of my girls.  I'm a little bit obsessed.  And I wish that everyone could see all of the cute and funny things that they do on a regular, ordinary day basis.  So I thought I would post all of the pictures from one day here.  Actually, these pictures are from two days in a row.  I couldn't choose just one day.

The girls usually wake up between 8:00-9:00 and we stay in our pajamas for the first few hours of the day when we have nowhere to be.  I usually make chocolate chip pancakes that we enjoy while watching Disney Junior.  Then we turn the tv off for a bit and Quinn always finds things to do.  On this day she dressed herself up and asked to go outside to play with bubbles.  Unfortunately, our back yard is nothing but dirt...but Quinn doesn't seem to mind.  She loves running back and forth across it.

Sometimes we play in the toy room together and Quinn sets up poses with her dolls and stuffed animals and asks me to take a "pich-er".

Harper entertains herself on the floor with various toys, but mostly just loves her hands and feet.  Then she will fall asleep for her first nap around 10:30 or 11:00.

Sometimes we meet up with friends at the park.

Sometimes the girls get baths.  Quinn could play in the bath for HOURS if I let her.  The water is always cold and she is shaking before I can finally bribe her out of the tub with some form of food or something.

Quiet time on the iPad sometimes happens for 20 minutes or so if I need her occupied while I feed Harper or something.

Quinn naps around 1:00-3:00ish, and Harper will usually go down sometime between 2:00-4:00 for her second nap (depending on how long her first nap was).  When Quinn wakes up she eats lunch.  Right now she loves fruit and pepperoni.

A lot of times we head to my parent's house at some point in the day to hang out for a little bit.  The girls get lots of attention there when I need a break.

But sometimes tantrums are still thrown...which are usually hilarious.

But Quinn always loves the end of the day, when her Dadda comes home from work.  The first thing she always says to him is, "Bed?" because she wants to wrestle and run and jump on the bed with him before dinner.  It's so cute.

These are the absolute best days right now.  I have so much fun with my girls and I am constantly laughing and just smiling while watching them throughout the day.  We've got a good life right now. :)

Quinn Turns Two!

I cannot believe that my sweet Quinn is two!  Although she definitely acts it, I feel like she was just born the other day.  She is so hilarious.  Everyone that meets her loves her and always comments on how much she talks and smiles and just how happy she always is.  She definitely has her tantrums too, but even those are hilarious as she says, "Momma!" and then when I look at her she screams and falls on the ground.

She can say so many words that I wouldn't even know where to begin listing them.  She pretty much repeats everything you ask her to and she is starting to form sentences.  She is super friendly and loves to talk to people she sees when we're out running errands.

She loves to eat pretty much anything, and as often as I'll let her.  She loves to play with pretty accessories and dresses and fairy wings, and loves to push strollers, grocery carts, or toys.  She loves to dance and sing ALL the time!  She is so smart too.  She knows tons of shapes (star, heart, circle, rhombus, rectangle, triangle, oval, square) and she can recognize the letters i and s and the number 6, as well as the word "go".

She is an amazing big sister, always loving on and kissing Harper.  She gets worried whenever Harper cries, and says, "Aww, baby sad."  She is just full of energy and the cutest little girl I've ever known.  I can't get enough of her!

We had a great birthday party for her on the Saturday before her birthday.  Everything went perfectly and it was so much fun!  It was an "Art" party, so we had ziploc bag finger painting for the kids and just lots of colors!  We played a game that I made where the kids had to punch their hands through a hole in a box covered in tissue paper, and then there was candy behind it.  They loved it!  Then we just had pizza and snacks and cake and Quinn opened presents.  We are so grateful to everyone that came and celebrated our sweet Quinn.

Imagination

One of the absolute best things about the age that Quinn is at right now it watching her imagination.  She completely cracks me up constantly with the things she comes up with and also the things that she picks up on that I don't even realize she's watching or noticing me do.

The other day she was eating pretzels and drinking milk while holding her snowmen, and she looked down at them and said, "Bite?" and then put her food and drink up to their mouths and said, "Good girl!"  It was so cute!

She also always wants her Violet and big Teddy to sit at the breakfast table with her.  She puts her headbands on Violet all of the time and says, "pretty!"

Then the other day she brought one of her dolls over, as well as one of her tutus and wanted me to put it on her doll.

She loves to color and asks me to color nearly every day.  Then it is so cute to see her focus so hard to create her little scribble drawing.  She puts her head right down next to the paper as if she really needs to see it up close to get it right.

She also loves to put on accessories all of the time, including everyone's necklaces that she finds and of course headbands and hats.

And one of her favorite things to do is to pretend she is sleeping.  She will lay down with a blanket or pillow, close her eyes, and pretend to be snoring.  Ah!  She kills me.

I just love that she is beginning to play with dolls and stuffed animals and treat them as little people.  I think it is the cutest thing in the world watching her little imagination at work!

Fall Festival Fun

This year, Quinn's cousins had their birthday party at a fall festival so she got an unlimited wristband for an hour to enjoy all of the rides and slides.  We definitely could not have done it any other way as this girl could not get enough!  She wanted to do each thing over and over again.  She loved the bounce house and we literally had to crawl inside to get her out.  I couldn't even count how many times she said "slide!" and had Nate take her down one of the three huge blowup slides.  She liked the train and the pumpkins and the goats and really just could not get enough of the whole experience.  It was so much fun watching her be so brave and love everything she tried!

My little Peacock - Halloween 2013

This Halloween I really wanted Quinn to be a peacock.  I know this is so random, but I just thought the colors were so pretty and I don't have many more years of picking what she dresses up as and I didn't see a peacock being something that she would really be convinced of in future years.  So I then decided that I would be a kangaroo with my little baby pouch, and Nate was going to be a monkey.  As I started putting all of the costumes together, I was getting so discouraged.  At one point I was so discouraged I was just going to throw everything away and be something totally different.  But I instead woke up with a different approach, reapplied myself, and I LOVE how it turned out!  I am especially proud of myself because I handmade all of our costumes from scratch.  And I truly couldn't be happier with how Quinn's turned out.  And the best news is that she loved it too!  Here we are a week later and she still brings me her costume to put on!  I love that she loves it!  She got so excited each time she got to put it on and cried when I had to take it off.  We went to our ward trunk-or-treat, my parents' trunk-or-treat, Nate's work's trick-or-treat event, and then of course the main event of real trick-or-treating on Halloween night!  We only had to show her a few times of holding out her purple pumpkin bucket and saying "Trick-or-treat!" and getting a piece of candy for her to understand how it worked.  She absolutely loved collecting the candy and she especially loved Halloween night when she got to knock on people's doors and walk all through the streets instead of just from car to car.  I think she also liked that it was less crowded and she wasn't getting run over.  She was by far the cutest little peacock I have ever seen!
