This was our last Christmas with just Quinn and it literally could not have been more perfect in my mind. It was simple and just based around us with her and on top of that, we got to see every single member of my family (except my brother who is on a mission), as well as every single member of Nate's family within just a few days of Christmas. On Christmas Eve, Nate and I gave Quinn a pair of Christmas jammies and we got her all ready for bed and then snuggled up together on the couch to watch The Polar Express. I didn't expect Quinn to make it too far into the movie, but just wanted to snuggle with her for a little bit. To my surprise, she sat through the entire movie! She didn't fall asleep and it wasn't until about the last ten minutes that she got up and started playing a little while it was on. I was shocked and impressed! It was the perfect night with our little family together and cuddling on the couch with the Christmas tree lights on. We then put her to bed and Nate and I set out all of the gifts for the next morning.
When Quinn started talking in her crib Christmas morning I jumped up and got ready so that we could head downstairs. She obviously wasn't expecting anything different, but when we came around the corner and she saw all of the presents her face was absolutely priceless! She was so shocked and didn't know what to do with everything. She went straight to her stocking when she saw a Minnie doll sticking out of it, grabbed the doll, and walked into the kitchen for breakfast. It was so cute. We eventually got her back in and showed her how the presents worked and she caught on quickly! She loved ripping the paper and examining and playing with each toy as it was opened. It was so much fun to watch her reaction to each and every gift! Nate and I also opened our gifts from one another, and he did such a great job shopping for me this year!
After we were finished with all of our gifts, we went over to my parents house for breakfast and to meet up with the rest of my family. We enjoyed my mom's delicious scones and then settled down for presents. It was so much fun with the kids this year. They all really enjoyed and understood what was going on, and it was so cute! After all of the gifts were opened, we all just spent the day relaxing, watching basketball, and examining our new things together while my mom prepared our big Christmas dinner. It was so delicious, as always!
The next day Nate's family started coming into town and although things got hectic with Harper making her appearance (a post on that to come), we were able to enjoy a few more "Christmases" with them and a fun white elephant exchange as well!
Quinn was spoiled beyond belief by so many that love her! She got so many new toys and will literally play in her toy room for hours now, using all of her new things. Thank you to everyone that made it such a great Christmas season and again, it couldn't have been any more perfect in my eyes.
